Dear Family and Friends,
Merry Christmas!
As we marvel at the great gift of God in our Savior Jesus Christ, we want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We thank our gracious God for the gift of YOU, the gift of each opportunity to share or be with you (or at least exchange Christmas greetings each year!), and we wish you God’s most awesome and excellent blessings this Christmas season and throughout the New Year.
This past year held lots of changes for our family, not the least of which was our move from Lansing, which had been our home for 20 years, to the Ann Arbor area in southeastern Michigan. (Please note the new address!) Dave is now 15 minutes from the District Office – and he does not miss the 2 ½ hour commute at all! Spring was busy with Joel’s graduation, helping move Leah, Joel, and James from apartments/dorm rooms to new apartments/back home, attending call services at the seminaries in St. Louis and Ft. Wayne, and looking for a house.

This past Sunday afternoon I had the privilege of speaking to the adult youth leaders, church leaders and parents at the Mid-Michigan Purity Rally at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing, MI. Bill Yonker, close friend, noted Youth Speaker, and Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dundee, IL, was the featured speaker for the Youth. He also was the preacher for Our Savior's Reformation Services, also celebrated on November 1. Of course, God used him mightily in both venues.
In my research while preparing for my presentation to the adults I came across an article at crosswalk.com written by contributing editor Betsy St. Amant. It was entitled "Sex and the Christian Marriage ." The title is a hyper link that will take you directly to the article ... but it is also reprinted here. It is an excellent, candid and informative article that is well worth the read ... for those who are dating, those contemplating marriage, and those married, whether they are "veterans" or in the first years of marriage.
