Thank you all for your continued prayers ... for health and healing especially for Joel and myself. This morning finds me teary eyed as I know Joel was getting some chemo through the night … and will be getting more today. My awesome wife, Pat, spent the night with Joel as he began (continued) his chemo regimen again for the months that lie ahead. They discovered last night that they won’t be home tonight as expected … that he will have to spend another night (as will Pat) because the new chemo they are giving him needs to be administered twice while he is there … and prior to and following each “drip” they hydrate and also flush his system, as best I understand it. I know he also needs to drink lots of water.
Please pray for Pat and Joel. Joel was so enjoying feeling better again … while still working so hard at physical therapy to regain strength and coordination from all that he endured in the past. He was recently selected to be one of the Junior Class reps for the Holt HS Winter Fest … and looked mighty fine as a winter court member in a white tux. With his good humor he had had Pat paint a basketball on his head … prompting not a few queries as to whether he was Jewish. (Picture above. You’ll understand.) Now the chemo is back … and although necessary … we pray that it will just attack those cancer cells and nothing else in his body.
Please pray that Joel walk by faith … and you can include our whole family in that one. Please pray particularly that his body withstands this chemo treatment better than the last ones … and that it does its job. Please pray for the doctors and their abilities to medically treat Joel, for godly wisdom being given them by the Creator of his body. Pray for Pat, that she not be concerned about us at home. After all, I can take care of James and Hannah. (Oh, maybe that’s why she is concerned.) Pray that God just carries her and that she be fully open to the support that He will surely give. She is an incredible loving wife and mom. Pray for their safe return on Thursday … and for us all during Joel’s “recovery period” that has at least followed his chemo treatments in the past.
And while you’re praying, please pray again for Leah who is in Spain. I know its hard on her to know that her brother is undergoing treatments and not be able to “pop in” and encourage him in person. Pray for her peace, her protection while overseas, and her witness to others as the child of God that she is.
And you can pray for Hannah and James … that they appreciate the frozen dinners that I prepare for them … along with a fresh salad and fruit. But isn’t God good …. There’s a Lenten Supper tonight!
Sincerely, thank you all for your continued, so necessary prayer support!
