First Words OSL's NEW Pastor To Be

Good morning OSL family and friends.  What a blessing God has sent our way in the person of Seminarian Roy Olsen and his family ... wife Joann and daughter Kirsten.  I have had privilege to spend a little time with them ... and now with Roy in particular at Beaners ... his first time at the Lansing version of a watering hole.  The Olsens will also be with us in both services this coming Sunday and are looking forward to serving the Lord and God's people here at OSL.  And now a first word from soon to be Pastor Roy Olsen. God bless your day, PM.)

Grace and peace to you, brothers and sisters in Christ. I have to start out by saying, I am not really a coffee drinker, but after the carmel marvel I find that this could change very quickly.  We are very excited to be here, while only visiting at this time, we look forward to the day, in the very near future, when we can serve the Lord together.  Seminarian Roy Olsen

Banners - A Proclaimation of Faith

If you’ve come to the OSL Sanctuary for the last three Sundays … you would have had the opportunity to see first hand the artistic abilities of our 8^th grade students.  Earlier in the year each 8^th grader is asked to talk over with their parents a Bible verse that they would like to use as their confirmation verse.  The confirmation verse is supposed to be meaningful and memorable as they will  be encouraged to remember the verse for the rest of their lives. 

If you did not have the opportunity to see the banners in the Sanctuary … you can also see them on line right now.  Wes Thorp was kind enough to honor each student and really to encourage each and every one of us … by putting each of the banners on line for your viewing.  I know that it would be the prayer of the confirmands that each verse would bring faith lesson or life encouragement to you. 

Thanks Confirmands for some meaningful banners … and your God-inspired promise to remain faithful unto death.  Through the God’s powerful working through His Word and Sacraments God’s abundant grace and mercy will surely lead you home!!
