The following email that I received on Monday morning was incredibly encouraging ... and was right on as to why i believe the Christain Education of our children is soooo important. Just wanted to share something with you that happened over the weekend. It was at the track meet. Jerry and I are learning all that is involved with a track meet ie: the time and the amount of food and other supplies to bring! It was Jennifer's first meet. She was in four events. It was late in the afternoon and Jennifer only had one event left, the 400 meter relay. They had called for the girls to go to the staging area. I knew that they would be lining up soon. As I glanced toward the staging area, I saw a wonderful sight. There were the four girls from OSL sitting on the ground in a circle, all holding hands and their heads bowed in prayer. One sixth grader and three fifth grade girls took time to pray before their race. As a mom, it was wonderful to see that my daughter has such a great faith and it also was a great reminder to myself as an adult that I need to daily and often pray.
I thank God, not onoly for the academic excellance of our school, not only for our Christ centered emphasis, but especially for how our teachers integrate the knowledge of Jesus and His Word with how that applies and shows itself in real life.
I think that we should perhaps start and "I Spy" section on our Web Page so that we can all contribute and post are sighting of Jesus in action. How exciting would that be.
